Introduction
The Guide for Detained Immigrants provides general information for immigrants who are detained in Alaska and taken to Seattle for removal proceedings. It defines some of the terms you will probably hear, explains the process you may encounter in Seattle, and provides examples of defenses against removal. The handbook should only be used as a guide for informational purposes only—it should not be considered specific legal advice for your case.
In addition to the Guide, All About Bonds contains information about bonds, how to request a bond hearing, and suggested steps for reducing your bond amount.
Lastly, the Family Safety Planning Toolkit, Immigration Safety Plan for Youth and Children, and Power of Attorney Forms are provided to help you and your family understand your rights and prepare an emergency plan for your household.
