The ACLU of Alaska is pleased to welcome three new staff members to our team this summer to bolster our capacity in communications, advocacy and philanthropy.

Communications Director Meghan Barker
Meghan Barker (She/Her) is the Communications Director for the ACLU of Alaska, and joined the team at the end of June! Meghan has a strong background in advocacy and organizing communications, and previously worked as the Save Bristol Bay program manager for Trout Unlimited in Alaska. She is most excited to increase the ACLU of Alaska's digital capacity and help her fellow Alaskans speak up for issues and communities they care about. When not working, Meghan can be found running or skiing on Anchorage trails or hanging at home with her current foster dog.

Advocacy consultant Nithya
Nithya Thiru (She/They) is excited to join the ACLU of Alaska as an Advocacy Consultant. Born and raised in Anchorage, Nithya comes to the ACLU with local experience and expertise in youth development, education and community engagement. After receiving their MPA in Human Rights and Gender Policy from Columbia University in 2019, Nithya returned home and served as the Executive Director of Story Works Alaska (2020 -2022) where she worked to uplift youth voices and create spaces of safety for queer and trans youth, and youth of color. In their spare time, Nithya enjoys writing fiction and recently finished writing a queer Asian vampire novel.

Tuan Graziano headshot
Tuan Graziano joined the ACLU of Alaska in June as the Donor Relations Manager. Tuan is a recent graduate from the University of Alaska, Anchorage with a Bachelor's of Business Administration emphasising in Economics. In the last few years, Tuan has taken the time to immerse himself in outdoor activities and the Alaskan lifestyle. He has fished for reds in the Kenai, hauled in halibut off Seldovia, and hiked on the endless number of trails around Southcentral Alaska. He has also learned to downhill ski and mountain bike. While those activities don't seem to love him, as evidenced by the several injuries and broken wrist he has received, he certainly does love them.
