The Queer and Trans Justice team will be holding a listening session during National Suicide Prevention Week. We will be listening and sharing about some of the stresses we have in common as LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, the struggles they produce, and ways in which we can build resilience in ourselves and our community to address current mental health needs and prevent future loss. All LGBTQIA2S+ people and allies are welcome.
Topics will include discussion around suicide and mental health and may include a number of sensitive topics related to this topic, such as bullying or self-harm. Mental health professionals will be available for the full session, and we will follow best practices throughout the discussion, but please prioritize your health and recognize that such topics make trigger anxiety, panic, or other responses.
If you need immediate help with a mental health crisis, please call or text 988 for emergency assistance.
