Tamika Harris recently moved to Anchorage from Atlanta, Georgia for an opportunity to work with ACLU of Alaska as the community centric fundraising fellow. She studied Social Work in undergrad and completed her Master of Public Health in August of 2023. Tamika is passionate about improving the quality of life of historically underserved communities and believes in people’s ability to grow and change. She has experience working in harm reduction with individuals seeking services as well as organizations building their capacity to serve. Tamika brings a strengths-based perspective to her work with ACLU of Alaska. With a mix of direct service and macro practice, Tamika is excited to share her dynamic experience with the strategic development team. She looks forward to being a part of the team’s work to transition to a community centered fundraising model.

After moving around the United States and overseas, Tamika spent most of her life in the Southeastern United States, having lived in Augusta and Atlanta Georgia for almost 20 years combined. Outside of work, you can find Tamika appreciating the beautiful landscapes of her new Anchorage home, bird watching, researching travel destinations, and sharing random facts with her friends and family.
