HB 99 should be passed in order to guarantee the constitutional rights and civil liberties of LGBTQIA2S+ Alaskans. The Human Rights Commission should investigate all complaints within its jurisdiction related to sexual orientation and gender identity or expression - HB 99 would make that responsibility crystal clear.

There is so much joy that LGBTQIA2S+ Alaskans bring to their families and communities, and it is morally imperative that our government take every opportunity to recognize their inherent dignity and help them live free, full lives. HB 99 would help all LGBTQIA2S+ Alaskans address tangible harms they face in their daily lives, and to be in a better position to have what anybody else wants – a safe home, economic security, and to feel welcome in their community.
